Why did your organization decide to become a StateRAMP member?
At Splunk, we place a high priority on the security needs of our government customers and assist them in ensuring trust in the digital services they provide. We acknowledge that third-party technology can be exploited and result in vulnerabilities, so we offer strong security measures to protect our clients’ data. The StateRAMP designation validates Splunk’s commitment to state and local government and higher education (SLED) institutions and gives customers additional confidence in using Splunk’s secure solutions.
How do you stay up to date with the evolving cybersecurity landscape?
Staying current on the evolving cybersecurity landscape is part of our core mission at Splunk. Our SURGe team focuses on in-depth analysis of the latest cybersecurity news and finding answers to security problems. This is delivered through research, rapid response guides, suggested reading and events. Our government partnerships also help us stay informed and collectively address cybersecurity issues faster and more efficiently. In a world of increasingly heightened threats, no one entity has responsibility for keeping us safe. Splunk is a member of the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC), established by the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). JCDC has played an important role in major cyber incidents over the last year, including the massive issues associated with the Log4j vulnerability. Cybersecurity is a team sport and public-private partnerships have become foundational to effectively maintaining critical infrastructure security and resiliency worldwide.
How can other members or organizations collaborate with your company on cybersecurity projects?
“Splunk’s public sector organization is a partner-first organization. With data at the center of every business outcome, AWS and Splunk empower organizations to innovate confidently, migrate and modernize existing environments, scale without limits, and keep systems secure. Through innovative and collaborative offerings, AWS and Splunk empower DevOps teams to reduce operational costs, mitigate risk, enhance collaboration, and redirect critical resources to high-value projects. This past June we announced our strategic partnership with Microsoft to build Splunk Cloud solutions natively on Microsoft Azure. For the first time, Splunk solutions are also available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. Within this agreement, Microsoft will collaborate with Splunk to develop a differentiated product offering by leveraging Microsoft Azure for Splunk’s cloud products. This approach will enable joint customers to innovate confidently and migrate, modernize and grow environments with end-to-end cloud and hybrid visibility at scale. If you’re interested in partnering with us, please get in touch.”
