Why did your organization decide to become a StateRAMP member?
As a data-driven organization, here at Merit we understand the importance of safeguarding customer data and ensuring that we are following industry best-practices. Partnering with and becoming a StateRAMP member helps us demonstrate our commitment to implementing new compliance standards and improving our overall security posture.
How do you stay up to date with the evolving cybersecurity landscape?
We rely on industry resources such as CISA, NIST, and IAPP to help us stay abreast of changes to the cybersecurity landscape and are fortunate to have informed customers that make sure our program evolves with changing requirements and new standards so we can continue to support their cybersecurity needs.
How has StateRAMP benefitted your organization so far?
We are starting our StateRAMP journey and are excited to have the opportunity to do an early-state security assessment with the PMO to gauge our readiness. We believe the Security Snapshot is valuable because it is helping us set an initial benchmark and demonstrate our commitment to our customers.
Is there anything else you want to share with the StateRAMP community or broader cybersecurity community?
We are very grateful that the StateRAMP program allows organizations to get approval from either a government sponsor or the approvals committee. Sponsorship is a large barrier for entry into FedRAMP and the Approvals Committee is a valuable differentiator for the StateRAMP program.
